Currently, working with Ju-ling Shih at the National University of Tainan in southern Taiwan investigating how to use MMLA for small groups of kids playing a STEAM game with robots. I have to say, it has been a refreshing wake-up call to reality in the informal classroom. You can see the that Kinect sensor is not happy tracking kids when they are having fun even with SSI Framework. The children run around climb over each other and have fun while playing this game that includes robots that need to negotiate environmental issues. We will keep exploring how to best get data to understand and improve the game while reducing the sensors to allow for creative learning and play.
